The saying goes “It ain’t easy being green”, but the Overall Winner of the 2017 UK Business Awards is turning that theory on its head by helping an ever-growing number of organisations benefit from greener – and cheaper – energy options.

With sustainability at its core, the Green Energy Advice Bureau creates bespoke energy proposals for businesses, helping them to grasp their needs in “granular detail”.

From this, firms make a saving – not just for their coffers, but also their carbon footprint.

Based in South Shields, the Bureau squad has enjoyed a steady growth while at the same time playing an active role in supporting local communities on social and environmental issues.

The talented team put themselves forward for the 2017 UK Business Awards, entering the New Business category, and after making a huge impact on a tough judging panel, were delighted to accept the award.

However, they returned to the podium when it was announced the Green Energy Advice Bureau was the Overall Winner for 2017 – an outstanding achievement earned thanks to their truly pioneering work that both benefits business and community development.

Following their win, the Bureau’s Ricky Chaplin spoke to Customer Experience Magazine, and said himself and colleagues were “overwhelmed” by their magnificent Wembley achievement.

“This is amazing recognition for what we do, and as a team we are still on a huge high, and will be for a while to come,” he said.

“Although we are a new business, many of us have experience in the industry, so creating the firm we are today was all about applying that experience and knowledge to the best of our ability. It wasn’t an easy journey, but thanks to that experience we had, we were not taking a leap of faith, so-to-speak. We have learned from the negatives, and as a team we are where we are now – and proud to be here.”

Speaking of the boost provided by awards recognition, Ricky added:

I would absolutely urge others to enter these awards, as it gives exposure that cannot be matched, as well as offering wider recognition for the hard work you and your team does as a dedicated organisation.”
